Child abduction after divorce

The Center for International Child Abduction (IKO) counted 251 cases of child abduction from the Netherlands last year. These are 14 more than in 2015. The number of cases in which a child is threatened to be abducted increased by 18 percent to 443 children. Most children are kidnapped to Turkey. 

In 70 percent of the cases, the mother of the children is the kidnapper.
